Secret Omen is the fourth album by the funk band Cameo, released in 1979. The album was their first of 9 albums, and first of 5 consecutive albums, to be certified gold in the US for sales of over 500,000 copies. Secret Omen peaked at #46 on The Billboard 200 chart and at #4 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.The album released two hit singles “I Just Want to Be” which peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart and at #52 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. Wild Cherry – Wild Cherry

Wild Cherry was an American funk-rock band formed in 1970 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, by lead singer and guitarist Rob Parissi. Although the band released four studio albums, they are best known for their 1976 smash hit, Play That Funky Music. Their signature song has an interesting origin. While performing in Pittsburgh, someone in the audience reportedly shouted, “Play some funky music, white boys!” Parissi wrote the song shortly afterward, turning the experience into one of the biggest crossover hits of the 1970s. It reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard R&B chart, sold over two million copies in the U.S., and earned the band two Grammy nominations. Four songs were released as singles from the album “State of Shock”, “Torture”, “Body” and “Wait”. “State of Shock” peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. “Torture” peaked at #9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, and at #12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart.“Body” reached #39 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart , and at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100.”Wait” was the fourth single from the album it failed to chart in the United States and the United Kingdom. Jermaine Jackson did not have a solo song on The Jacksons’ “Victory” album because, although he rejoined the group for the album, he was not fully involved in the creative process for all the tracks. He contributed vocals to the song “Torture,” but it was a duet with Michael, not a solo performance.The album was supported by the Victory Tour, with Michael, who had recently released the world’s all-time best-selling album, Thriller (1982), being prominently featured on the tour’s setlist. None of the songs from Victory were performed on the tour. The album Victory became the Jacksons’ only studio album to top a national chart, and their only top 10 album in the UK. Victory was certified 2× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States in October 1984, and sold 7 million copies worldwide.
