Secret Omen is the fourth album by the funk band Cameo, released in 1979. The album was their first of 9 albums, and first of 5 consecutive albums, to be certified gold in the US for sales of over 500,000 copies. Secret Omen peaked at #46 on The Billboard 200 chart and at #4 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
The album released two hit singles “I Just Want to Be” which peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart and at #52 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. The second single release from “Secret Omen” was the ballad “Sparkle” which peaked at #10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.
Other standout cuts on the album are “Energy” and “Macho” the rest of the album has a disco feel which is not as funky as the ones mentioned.
