The album peaked at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Top Black Albums chart, and at #47 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart. Three songs were released as singles from the album “Just Be Good to Me”, “Tell Me If You Still Care” and “For Your Love”. “Just Be Good to Me” peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, and at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Tell Me If You Still Care” peaked at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, and at #65 on the Billboard Hot 100. “For Your Love” reached #26 on the U.S. Billboard Hot, and #34 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart. The album was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Gene Dozier, and The S.O.S. Band. It was executively produced by Clarence Avant. The album was digitally remastered and reissued on CD with bonus tracks in 2013 by Demon Music Group.
